Commissioned by the dairy breeding organisation, the Qlip routine laboratory analyses milk samples from 200,000 individual animals on a weekly basis. These samples are tested for fat-, protein- and lactose concentrations and frequently the individual cow cel count and ureum concentration are also determined. The results of these analyses are used by the cattle improvement organisation in order to make the cattle owner’s work easier, so he can implement quick and focused actions when individual animals start showing divergent results.
Qlip has her own R&D department which is continuously at work finding new and faster analyses that benefit her customers. In this search, innovations that may be of great added value to the cattle owner are of specific interest.
Sampling and the performance of analyses are in accordance with the guidelines as set forth by the International Committee for Animal Recording.
