In the dairy laboratory the monitoring programme for contaminants and residues in farm milk is carried out in the regular flow of bulk milk samples. This concerns legal requirements with regard to substances that are undesirable in farm milk, with the aim of guaranteeing the safety of Dutch farm milk.
This programme is coordinated by the Dutch Dairy Association. It includes the following substances:
- Antibiotics
- Radioactive substances
- Pesticides
- Dioxins and PCBs
- PAKs
- Melamine
- Anthelmintics
- Other contaminants
Additional research is also conducted on basis of a risk analysis.
